
They hibernate under water
The green frogs we see on the banks of ponds and rivers are a protected species. The green frogs in the Aquarium are a domestic variety, RIVAN 92, the result of cross-breeding by the INRA. Tadpoles eat plankton, whereas adult frogs eat mainly insects. They are not often seen during the cold season when they hibernate underwater.
