Welcome to the fascinating world of the Grand Aquarium de Touraine Our enthusiastic and motivated team present eight interactive educational workshops...and some new features. We are delighted to share our universe of rivers and oceans with you. Participate and learn, discover and explore the aquatic world.
Free teacher planning visit.
Dear Teachers, We invite you to visit the Grand Aquarium to plan your students’ trip. Discover the Aquarium and get to know the different exhibits. The planning visit winds up with a presentation of our programmes and educational material. This is a valuable phase of your planning visit. Registration for planning visit: resa@grandaquariumdetouraine.com. We also provide educational material for your class’s level to prepare your visit.

- Explore the material; textures; colors and shapes
- Discovery of several animals through an artistic activity; practice decorative graphics
Cycle 2 (aged 5 to 7) - Up tp 30 students
Over water
Targeted learning
Environmental awareness, memorization of elements to awaken the senses
Goals
- Work as a team around the discovery of the senses
- Identify the elements of the aquatic world
- Differentiate the senses / smells according to the environment
- Play certain sounds after memorization
Cycle 3 (aged 8 to 10) - Up to 30 students

Targeted learning:
Exploration and representation of the aquatic world, awareness of tomorrow's citizens about the environment
Goals :
- Understand the importance of biodiversity and sustainable development
- Develop a critical look at everyday objects concerning the impact of their creation, use and recycling, on the exploitation of the planet's resources
- Handling and sorting of waste according to their biodegradability time
- Awareness of the impact of aquatic pollution on wildlife

Understanding of food chains and interactions between species
Goals :
- Awakening curiosity, research and understanding of different diets
- Understanding together the role of animals and their interactions in food chains
- Awareness of human responsibility in the environment and the impact of its activity on aquatic food chains

The Aquarium’s sharks
Targeted learning:
Discovery and awareness of shark anatomy
Goals :
- Comprehension and expression using scientific vocabulary.
- Presentation of shark anatomy through observation drawings
- Sexual difference
- Awareness of concepts of ecology and environment through the human / animal relationship
Secondary School (aged 11 to 12) - Up to 30 students
Labo'Pedago
Targeted learning:
Discovery of the profession and missions of animal healer
Goals :
- Exploration of tools and working methods
- Adopt ethical and responsible behavior
- Acquisition of a specific vocabulary
- Practice of water tests, discovery of filtration systems, initiation to the preparation of food trays
Leisure centres (aged 4 to 12) - Up to 30 students
Tactile experience
Targeted learning:
Discovery of the aquatic world through a sensory development workshop
Goals :
- Identify what is animal, plant, mineral or produced by living beings.
- Exploration of the life cycle of living things and the diets of some animals
- Identify the interactions of observations in oral form and in drawings
- Observe, touch and identify animals according to their aspects, shapes and colors
