Spectacled caiman are reptiles able to remain immobile for hours, lying in wait for their prey or sunning themselves. From the Alligatoridae family, the young mainly eat insects. Then when they grow up, they attack amphibians, fish and mammals. The name spectacled caiman comes from the bony crater between its eyes which looks like glasses.
