
They conceal themselves in natural hiding places
Turkish narrow-clawed crayfish live concealed under plants or logs, and in holes in ponds and rivers, even in this flooded cellar! Part of the Astacidae family, they were imported from Turkey for human consumption. In the natural environment they are in competition with the more robust American species.
